Additional Information: | 2007- "Located on the west side of Duncun Road, immediately north of WIS 29, this farmstead is comprised of a main residence, secondary residential building, a barn and three smaller outbuildings. Of particular architectural interest are the main residence and secondary residential building, both fashioned with elements of the Craftsman style. Details of the style observed on both buildings include projecting eaves, triangular knee braces, exposed rafter tails and multipaned upper sashes over single-paned lower sashes. The main residential building is a ca. 1920, one-and-one-half story brick structure with an asphalt-shingle, cross-gable roof. This building features period doors and original 3/1 double-hung wood windows. Exterior alterations include an enclosed porch addition, and the presence of some asbestos paneling and insulbrick siding. The secondary residential structure is located at the rear of the prior and is oriented with the fagade facing south (toward WIS 29). This ca. 1920 one-story, hip-roof structure has asphalt-shingles and insulbrick siding currently disguises both the foundation and wall construction material. The 3/1 double-hung wood windows and period doors are original. Exterior alterations include modern replacement siding and a garage appendage on the west elevation. Located at the rear of the farmstead (south of the two residential buildings) are a gambrel-roof barn and three smaller frame outbuildings. The ca. 1920 gambrel-roof barn rests on a stone foundation. A small gable-roof structure is appended to the north elevation. Constructed of concrete block, it was likely used as an entry hall. Located north of the barn are three smaller frame outbuildings, all primarily covered in modern replacement materials. These structures also appear to date to ca. 1920." - 'Ringle, Bevent, Hatley, Misson Lake, Birnamwood, Wittenburg", WisDOT #1053-09-06, Prepared by Rachel Bankowitz, (2007). |
