Additional Information: | 2007- "Located on the east side of Bass Lake Road (immediately north of WIS 29), this farmstead is comprised of a residence, barn, and two modern outbuildings. The one-story, Minimal Traditional residence was likely constructed ca. 1945 and is sided in metal. The L-shaped house has a concrete foundation and an asphalt-shingle, cross-gable roof. Exterior alterations include modern replacement siding, replacement windows and doors, and a modified front porch. Located southwest of the residence is an arched-roof barn, perhaps the most significant architectural piece of the farmstead. The oldest structure at the farmstead, it was likely constructed ca. 1915. The frame barn rests on a stone foundation. Several structural additions (including a silo) extend from the barn. Appended to the west elevation of the barn is an arched-roof addition constructed of concrete block and capped with a corrugated metal roof. A small gable roof addition extends from the north side of the barn and was likely used as an entry hall. A silo is appended to the east elevation of the barn. Exterior alterations include modern replacement siding, glassblock window additions, and replaced doors. Two modern outbuildings are also located at the farmstead. The first structure is located south of the residence and appears to be utilized as a garage. The second structure appears to be a pole barn." - 'Ringle, Bevent, Hatley, Misson Lake, Birnamwood, Wittenburg", WisDOT #1053-09-06, Prepared by Rachel Bankowitz, (2007). HOUSE IS A ONE-STORY MINIMAL-TRADITIONAL STYLE RESIDENCE, LIKELY CONSTRUCTED CA. 1945. IT HAS AN L-SHAPED FOOTPRINT AND CONCRETE-BASED FOUNDATION. HOUSE HAS BEEN ALTERED BY ADDITIONS OF ALUMINUM SIDING, REPLACEMENT WINDOWS AND DOORS, AND A MODIFIED FRONT PORCH. THIS PROPERTY WAS SURVEYED BECAUSE ON THE ARCHED-ROOF BARN LOCATED ON THE PROPERTY, WHICH SITS SOUTHWEST OF THE HOUSE AND IS PERHAPS THE MOST SIGNIFICANT PORTION OF THE FARMSTEAD. tHE BARN IS THE OLDEST STRUCTURE AT THE FARMSTEAD (WHICH ALSO INCLUDES TWO MODERN OUTBUILDINGS), AND IT WAS LIKELY CONSTRUCTED CA. 1915. CONSTRUCTED OF FRAME, IT RESTS ON A STONE FOUNDATION, AND HAS SEVERAL ADDITIONS. |
