This Romanesque Revival building faces southwest on a parcel that also contains a school building, parish offices, and a cemetery to the northeast. The original portion of the building consists of a front-gabled cream brick sanctuary with a square steeple rising into an octagonal spire. It has a raised, cut-stone foundation and an asphalt-shingled roof. In addition, the building features round arched stained glass windows, stone-capped, engaged brick buttresses, a stepped brick cornice, and brick corbels beneath the raking eaves. The steeple contains paired round arches in the belfry and clocks in three of the four elevations. Much of the northwest side gabled façade has been obscured by a series of additions dating between 1950 and 2016. They have been designed to mimic the original church, constructed of cream brick with round-arch windows and brick pilasters and detailing. The latest addition in 2016 included a large entryway pavilion on the primary elevation. See AHI 247405 and 247406 for associated records |
