Another map code for this building is WT 19/5 found on the DOT West Bend map.

This three story building, designed in the Italianate style, features a rectangular shaped plan configuration, a cream brick exterior, a cream brick and wood shingled trim and a flat roof. The roofline is accented with a parapet. Over the third story windows are round arched carved panels and brick lintels. The second story windows contain arches some of which are stilted and others of which are plain and segmentally arched; all of these windows have brick lintels. This hotel and restaurant building, which is in fair condition, has had its first floor and its roofline altered.

This building was constructed to replace an 1852 frame hotel which had been destroyed by fire on January 1, 1864. This current building opened on October 15, 1864. It was supposedly the first brick building in West Bend.
