Additional Information:A 'site file' exists for this property. It contains additional information such as correspondence, newspaper clippings, or historical information. It is a public record and may be viewed in person at the Wisconsin Historical Society, Division of Historic Preservation-Public History.

A single-story concrete block addition was added in 1946 for additional fire truck bays. The building was acquired by the Saukville Area Historical Society in 1998 and later renovated.

Saukville's fire department was organized by Daniel E. McGinley, who served as the town's first fire chief. In addition, McGinley was a school teacher, a writer, a Civil War historian, and was appointed Consul to Greece by President McKinley (see The New York Times Jan 5, 1902: pg 10 and March 29, 1902: pg 3.)
