It is a public record and may be viewed in person at the State Historical Society, Division of Historic Preservation. SEGMENTAL ARCH LINTELS. PORCH A LATER ADDITION. BRICK PILASTERS. 2021: The Hotel Wrchota was constructed in 1913-1914 in a modest French Second Empire style. It is rectangular in plan with red brick walls and an asphalt-shingled mansard roof. The front elevation faces east and is symmetrical in plan with a tiered set of concrete steps projecting across the width of the façade. These are fully sheltered under a projecting, flat-roofed portico that features columnar wood supports at regular intervals. Within this portico is a center doorway flanked by large shop windows with wood paneled bulkheads. The porch roof is enclosed with turned wood railings and is accessed via a central segmentally-arched doorway. Segmentally-arched window openings containing multi-over-1 windows are located on each side of the doorway. A shed-roofed dormer at the center of the front roof slope contains three singly-placed 6-over-1 windows. Regularly-spaced dormers containing two windows each are located along both side elevations. A metal sign dating to at least 1932 is mounted to the front balcony; this reads “HOTEL / FRIENDSHIP” with neon tubing illuminating the “HOTEL” letters. |
