NOTES
Additional Information:A 'site file' exists for this property. It contains additional information such as correspondence, newspaper clippings, or historical information. It is a public record and may be viewed in person at the Wisconsin Historical Society, Division of Historic Preservation-Public History.

2008- "This buildings is a very large four-story apartment building with a U plan that creates two large wings, a north wing and a south wing that are connected by a narrow section at the west end of both wings. Most of the building is clad with multi-hued brown brick This
brick is used on the "public" elevations, including the south elevation and the east elevation and wraps around the north and west
elevations as well. The rest of the building is clad with a simple tan brick. The details reflect the Tudor Revival style.

The flat roof of the building is accented by terra cotta cqping and a wide brick corbelled cornice that features a horizontal diamond
pattern. Each diamond is accented with brick lines at the corners. Most of the Tudor decoration sits in the corner terra cotta window
surrounds. The decoration includes narrow terra cotta pilasters, cresting, finials, friezes, shields and Tudor arches. The spandrels are
filled with a terra cotta panel with four scroll motifs and a center diamond surrounding a quatrefoil and are framed by brick corbelling.
Under the second story window there is a terra cotta panel with a diamond design flanked by paneled blocks supported by corbels. A
terra cotta cornice also runs between the first and second stories around the entire brown brick sections of the building.

The windows in the terra cotta surrounds are paired single-light sashes, while the other windows in the brown brick sections of the
building are a combination of individual and paired single-light sashes. These types of windows are also plain tan brick walls. The
main entrance is deep in the U and sits in a one-story entry pavilion that is decorated with thick terra cotta coping and plaques with
shields. The main entrance has a wide modern metal and glass door with sidelights sitting under a terra cotta-outlined Tudor arched
transom. An elaborate terra cotta frontispiece that widens as it runs along the base of the entrance accents the entrance."
