NOTES
Additional Information:This house was built in 1911 by Mahlon Colburn. Colburn was born in New York in 1845. The 1900 census indicates that he and his second wife Martha resided in Walworth, where he would become the village president in 1907. Two years previous, he and his son C. Ross, would form Colburn & Son, and manufacture cement blocks. Earlier in his life, Mahlon served as an Associate Supervisor of the Town (1873); Town Treasurer (1878-1879); and Chairman and Member of the County Board (1896-1898). 2010: Similar in form and appearance to its neighbor to the south (see previous discussion for 211 Madison Street), this stucco- sheathed, Craftsman-inspired American Foursquare is also topped with a hipped roof with wide eaves and that includes a hipped-roof dormer. However, the hipped-roof porch of this example features stucco-sheathed porch piers with a wooden railing and windows throughout the house are generally three-over-one-light sashes and are set in pairs and tripartite groupings. Like 211 Madison, a one-story bay is located along the south wall. 2024: Resurveyed. New gutters are apparent, otherwise little significant change. Update photo.
