Additional Information: | Probably erected c. 1965, the building can be essentially divided into three sections - two rectangular portions and a semi-arched section - all of which connect. Constructed of reinforced concrete, the base of the building is faced with brown brick, and cement/stucco cladding is also used as a wall material. All sections of the building feature flat roofs covered with metal roofing. The entire building ranges in height between one and one-and-one-half stories. The Teamsters Local 344 building features distinct design elements indicative of 1960s commercial architecture, including unusual roof lines, cantilevered overhangs, and elevated window placement. The building retains a moderate level of exterior integrity and is a modest example of 1960s commercial architecture in West Allis. |
