Additional Information:ROOTS ARE IN THE CONGREGATIONAL CHURCH WHICH WAS FOUNDED IN 1841 BY MEMBERS OF THE FIRST PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH WHICH IS NOW IMMANUEL PRESBYTERIAN AT 1100 N. ASTOR.

The 1913 & 1914 work was under the architect Alexander C. Eschweiler, while the 1929 addition was under the architectual firm Robert A. Messmer & Brother.

Architectual Significance:
Example of 20th century Gothic Revival, executed in brick with carved stone trim. The church and parish house were designed by Alexander C. Eschweiler. A gymnasium and Sunday School were added in 1914 and 1929 respectively.

The original church of the Plymoth congregation is located at the southeast corner of N. Van Buren and E. Wells streets, built in 1889. Since 1912, it has belonged to the Scottish Rites Masons. (see survey site at 790 N. Van Buren).
