Additional Information:Architect William Stevens was working for the State Architect's Office under Arthur Peabody the State Architect. The building was remodeled in 1960 by Karel Yasko of the State Bureau of Engineering. Fire escapes were added in 1968 by Shinji Yamamoto.

1988- "...named for Charles Kendall Adams, president of the University from 1892 to 1901, a period of growth in student enrollment and academic organization. Adams is believed to have drafted the "sifting and winnowing" statements bolted to Bascom Hall."
