Additional Information: | 1988- "Built in 1929, and added to in 1960 and 1970, it includes a killing floor, and chilling and freezing rooms which are used for teaching meat quality and training meat judging teams. Working in the basement of this building in the 1930s, the future University President Conrad Elvehjem conducted his work on the Vitamin B complex. His isolation of nicotinic acid as the causative agent of Black Tongue disease in dogs led directly to a cure for human pellagra." |
