Additional Information:FARM OF WISCONSIN'S FIRST GOVERNOR ON A HILLSIDE OVERLOOKING THE MISSISSIPPI RIVER HAS A HOUSE REBUILT BY WALTER CASS NEWBERRY AFTER 1887 AND ORIGINAL OUTBUILDINGS. A 'site file' exists for this property. It contains additional information such as correspondence, newspaper clippings, or historical information. It is a public record and may be viewed in person at the State Historical Society, Division of Historic Preservation.

Stonefield is a Wisconsin Historical Society Historic Site. The site borders are the same as the Nelson Dewey State Park, which includes buildings from the WPA era.
