Additional Information:THE WATERWHEEL IS A RECONSTRUCTION. THE BUILDING IS SUPPOSEDLY THE OLDEST EXTANT STRUCTURE IN THE COUNTY. ERWIN SCHLEGEMILCH AND HIS FAMILY OWNED THE MILL FROM 1878 UNTIL 1965 WHEN ROBERT AND DORIS LYMAN BOUGHT IT. A 'site file' exists for this property. It contains additional information such as correspondence, newspaper clippings, or historical information. It is a public record and may be viewed in person at the State Historical Society, Division of Historic Preservation.
