ARCHITECTURAL STATEMENT: THE OVIATT HOUSE IS A TWO STORY STRUCTURE CONSTRUCTED OF ROCK FACED LIMESTONE AND FEATURING A THREE STORY RECTANGULAR TOWER. STILTED SEGMENTAL ARCHES MARK DOOR AND WINDOWS. THIS IS ONE OF WATERS' MOST DISTINCTIVE DESIGNS AND WAS PLACED ON THE NATIONAL REGISTER IN 1979. HISTORICAL STATEMENT: THE HOME WAS BUILT FOR MOSES HOOPER, PROMINENT OSHKOSH ATTORNEY. HOOPER WAS A NATIONALLY KNOWN EXPERT IN RIPARIAN RIGHTS AND SERVED AS THE ATTORNEY FOR THE KIMBERLY-CLARK COMPANY FOR OVER 50 YEARS. DR.
