This late Queen Anne styled house has a gable roof with dormers, a brown brick exterior, and and a round corner tower. Chateauesque as well as Neoclassical motifs appear throughout the structure: Floral details are at the metal frieze, and dentil trim adorns the cornice. Palladian styled windows are visible at the front and side elevations and massed chimneys have decorative brickwork The two-sided porch has a rounded corner, a pedimented entrance, and short columns which rest on a masonry railing. Madison Landmark: 5/15/1978. The residence is also a contributing structure in the Orton Park Historic District (NRHP listing date: 10/31/1988). W. D. Curtis and perhaps Kittleson as well were associated with the Dexter Curtis Co. Saddlery. Covenant/Easement: From 3/15/1984 to 3/15/1989. A 'covenant file' exists for this property.
