Additional Information: | 2013- "This one and one-half story, frame Colonial Revival residence appears to date from ca. 1900. It rests on a foundation coated with smooth stucco, and is capped with an asphalt-shingled hip-with-deck roof embellished with cresting (not original). The house is finished with narrow clapboards, and trimmed with corner and cornice boards. A hip-with-deck wall dormer dominates the west-facing (front) facade. A smaller, hip-with-deck dormer is found on each of the north and south slopes of the roof. All three dormers are clad with wooden shingles, display broad returned eaves, and bracketed cornices. The entrance is set off-center on the west-facing (front) facade, sheltered by a partially-cutaway, hip-roofed porch with Doric columns, bracketed cornice, and closed pediment. The railing and handrail display slender turned balusters, and may date from between 1978 and 1995.6 A broad, cottage window lights the front facade. Single, paired, and grouped, 1/1 windows appear throughout the house." - "Wisconsin Rapids Sidewalk and Crossing Improvements and Education Program", WisDOT ID #69999-07-17/77, Prepared by Elizabeth L. Miller (2013). |
