Additional Information: | The 1939 single story Commercial Vernacular building is rectangular in plan with a concrete foundation, red brick and stucco walls, and a flat roof. The front elevation faces south and is asymmetrical in plan. The lower portion of the front elevation is dominated by two large plate glass display windows; the front door is recessed at the northeast corner of the elevation. A retractable awning is located just above the windows. Above this, plain brick with two small limestone medallions and a limestone panel reading #28;"1889 KLAUS 1939"#29;. The roofline of the building along the front (south) elevation is capped in limestone. The east elevation of the building is clad in stucco while the west elevation abuts an adjoining building. |
