Additional Information: | 2011- This two-story, Gabled Ell residence is located on the east side of Osseo Road, south of its intersection with Whitehall Road. Erected ca. 1890, the newly inventoried house rises from a stone foundation and faces west toward Osseo Road. Drop siding finishes the exterior walls of the house. The cross-gable roof has been sheathed with asphalt shingles. The roof is pierced by a front-facing gable on the main (west-facing) facade. A one-story, half-hipped porch is located in the ell of the main fagade. Although it retains a modern metal railing, it displays original spindlework and porch posts. At the rear of the house, a one-story, shed-roof addition extends from the rear (east-facing) facade and is clad with white drop siding, as are several small, historic additions on the south-facing fagade. All windows now carry replacements, although several original screen doors are intact on the main facade. The vernacular house does not embody distinctive characteristics of any type, period, or method of construction. |
