NOTES
Additional Information:A 'site file' exists for this property. It contains additional information such as correspondence, newspaper clippings, or historical information. It is a public record and may be viewed in person at the Wisconsin Historical Society, Division of Historic Preservation-Public History.

A 2-car garage was added to the west side of the building sometime in the 1950s or 60s. A deck was added to the south side of the building in 1992. One of the four original chinmeys was removed to roof level (date unknown). Some interior remondeling in the 1980s and 1990s.

The first rectory, a small frame house built in 1885, originally sat on this parcel. It was moved across the street in the early 1890s and sold as a private residence. The new rectory was built in its place at the expense of Fr. Stephan Leinfelder. Originally owned by the Diocese of LaCrosse, the rectory was sold to St. Mary's in 1904. The accompanying church was destroyed by fire in 1944 (source: a printed parish history, n.d.). In 1985, the house was sold to Yvonne Anderson who used it as a rooming house. Gerald and Ethel Anderson purchased the house in 1991 and operated a four room bed and breakfast until 2008.

Resurveyed in July 2020 by UWM-CRM as part of the WisDOT USH 63 reconstruction project. Appearance unchanged.
