"Originally built as a warehouse, the building was remodeled in 1858 as a home for the Valerius Anderson family. The porthole window dates from the 19th century but is not original to the warehouse. Later occupants added the enclosed porch and one-story wing on the back." Milton Historic Preservation Commission, History in Progress: Hiking/Biking Tour of Historic Milton, Wisconsin, n.d.
