Additional Information: | This circa-1935, one-story commercial building is faced with brick and trimmed with stone, similar to the neighboring bank building at 100 N. Main Street. A modern storefront takes up much of the primary (west) elevation, while modern material covers over what was likely a prism or other type of glass transom. The structure served as the village post office from no later than 1940 to 1958. Assessor's records indicate a construction date of 1935 and there was no evidence was found that this building (the brick and stone of which match the bank) was built at the same time as the neighboring bank building and was not an extension of the bank proper. |
