Additional Information: | 2019 This 2-story Colonial Revival apartment complex was constructed in 1949. It is irregular in plan with brick and aluminum siding and an asphalt-shingled gable roof with slight eave returns. Both the west and north elevations are primary facades. The west elevation facing Lydell Avenue is asymmetrical in plan with a front entrance sheltered under a small front-gabled entry porch. The front door is further accentuated by multi-pane sidelights on each side. The first story of this portion of the façade is clad in brick while the second story is clad in aluminum siding. Windows are singly-placed 2-over-2 windows and banks consisting of a center single-pane window flanked by smaller 2-over-2 windows. The portion of the complex that fronts on Silver Spring Drive (the north elevation) is U-shaped in plan with entrances located in the recessed center portion of the building. This portion of the building features door, window, and wall treatment similar to that of the Lydell Avenue façade. |
