| Additional Information: | Capitol Drive Architecture/History Survey, WisDOT #2025-15-00, Prepared by Heritage Research (2011). This Colonial Revival-style funeral home is sheathed with brick. It features a two-story, front-gabled core surrounded on three sides by one-story blocks topped with either a gabled or truncated hipped roof. The roof of the main block on- the south (primary) facade extends forward and is supported by four Doric columns. The extended roof is underscored with a denticulated cornice. The main doorway is tucked underneath the roof extension and is topped by an oversized broken pediment. The remainder of this large building features little significant ornamentation and is outfitted with large fourlight casement windows and one-over-one, double-hung sashes. This funeral home was built in 1974 as the Harder Funeral Home; the name it still carries today. 2020: Resurveyed - appearance unchanged. |
