| Additional Information: | Large cream brick building with red brick symmetrical facade with denticulated cornice and rectangular. The Daily Press moved here in 1966 to take over this building owned by Ashland Publishing Corporation. The former Press building at 109 W. Second Street was destroyed by a January 23, 1929 fire. 2025: Vernacular commercial building constructed in 1917; two stories with rectangular plan and flat roof featuring a corbelled brick cornice with denticulated brick course. Façade clad in red brick; east elevation clad in cream brick. Central projecting entry bay faced in decorative patterned concrete block with single entrance sheltered by a flat canopy; adjacent three-part window set within matching block. Fenestration consists primarily of one-over-one windows on stone sills, with glass block windows at the basement level. Rear addition constructed between 1992 and 2005 features a flat roof, metal siding, concrete block foundation, and wide metal fascia band. |
