Additional Information: | A 'site file' exists for this property. It contains additional information such as correspondence, newspaper clippings, or historical information. It is a public record and may be viewed in person at the State Historical Society, Division of Historic Preservation. This two story commercial vernacular styled building features a rectangular shaped plan configuration, a stucco covered foundation, a clapboard exterior, a wood trim and an asphalt shingled gable roof. A false front gives the building an element characteristic of the "boomtown" style. This former commercial building is now used as a duplex, and is in fair condition. This structure is architecturally significant in that it represents type, period, or method of construction. Historical Statement: Assessment roll research indicates that the land was purchased and this building was built between 1870 and 1880. August Lutz is listed as the owner in 1880 and 1890. (See Bib. Ref. A). |
