119 East Frederick Street W. W. and Mary Fenelon House
This two-story frame, vinyl-sided Queen Anne house was built in 1894 (1894 Sanborn Map of Rhinelander). It was probably constructed for W. W. and Mary Fenelon. The house has a front-facing gable, canted at the first story and featuring a leaded glass window; and a plain, one-story front porch. W. W. Fenelon was a founder and partner in the Crane, Fenelon and Company general store, which opened in Rhinelander in 1887 (New North, April 21, 1887). By 1895, Fenelon had bought out Crane. Fenelon continued to operate the general store until circa 1903, when he was killed in a dispute (History of Lincoln, Oneida and Vilas Counties, p. 117). The Fenelon family retained ownership of this house until at least 1965 (Rhinelander City Directories).
