Additional Information: | BRACKETED EAVES. ROUND AND ROUND ARCH WINDOWS. DOOR W/STONE SURROUND. This two-story, brick, side-gabled Colonial Revival house was erected in 1935 for Walter Abendroth (Rhinelander telephone books; City of Rhinelander tax rolls). The house features a projecting, gabled, entry pavilion with a rusticated, quoined entrance, a balconet, an oculus and returned eaves; round-arched windows; and hip-roofed dormers. Abendroth was an officer in the Robbins Flooring Company. He owned and occupied the house until at least 1956 (Rhinelander City Directories). Re-surveyed in 2009. Appears unchanged except for alterations to the front porch - two brick piers formerly located on the right side are missing. |
