Additional Information: | MASSIVE ROUND ENGAGED CNR TOWER W/ENGAGED CONICAL ROOF. POLYGONAL 1ST FLR BAY W/BRACKETED EAVES & WOOD PANELING. DORIC PORCH W/SEMI-CIRCULAR SHAPE CENTERED AROUND CNR TOWER. PORCH W/FLUTED COLUMNS AND SPINDLEWORK RAILING. BALCONY OVER PORCH. DIAGONAL WOOD. 2017 WisDOT survey - This property includes a Queen Anne-influenced house and garage. The property is located on the northeast corner of Main and 13th Streets. The two-story house has an irregular footprint. At the southeast juncture of the two wings is a two-story tower with a semi-conical roof. The tower’s first story is an open porch with a curved footprint and Doric columns. The tower second story features a shallow balcony in front of a panel and glass door and flanking windows. The exterior of the building is clad in clapboard siding with decorative stickwork in the gable ends. The roof is sheathed in asphalt shingles. Two entrances are within the porch. The majority of windows on the house are one-over-one replacement units. A distinctive window is located on the first story of the façade gable; a canted bay window with a mansard roof supported by small brackets. North of the house is a one-and-one-half-story side-gable garage. |

Bibliographic References: | Assessor's information provides an 1875 date of construction; however, appearance of the house suggests otherwise. The gabled ell core of the house was likely built in the 1880s--and the tower and porch were likely added later. |
