Additional Information: | The Seidl Confectionery is significant under Criterion C as a good example of commercial vernacular architecture in Merrill. This building is a contributing resource in the West Main Street Commercial Historic District. Constructed in 1913, this brick building replaced the frame building which already housed the confectionery of Charles and Mary Seidl. The Seidl Confectionery was likely a West Side institution, as it was at the same location from circa 1900 to as late as 1942. Re-surveyed in 2005. No significant change observed. |
