NOTES
Additional Information:The Fred Hesterman House is significant under Criterion C for a good example of Italianate style residential architecture represented in brick, a fairly uncommon building material in Merrill, and as a contributing resource in the Center Avenue Historic District. As early as 1893 this address is listed as the residence of Fred and Mary Hesterman. Fred Hesterman was a mason in Merrill who, among his credits, he included the work on the three arch stone bridge on W. Firwst Street and the Prairie River. It is likely that Hesterman constructed this brick house himself. The Hestermans remained at this address until as late as 1925. By 1930 this is the residence of Oscar J. Hertell.
