NOTES
Additional Information:District #4 emerged in the Town of Granville in 1851 and the original school building was replaced in 1876. The district voted to replace that facility with the 1929 block of the subject structure. Rising enrollments due to suburbanization forced the district to add to the school in 1937, 1943, 1951 and 1954-55. The district was absorbed by the Milwaukee school system in 1956 after a significant part of its tax base was annexed by the City of Milwaukee. The building continues to be owned by the Milwaukee Public Schools and is rented out to a charter school named the Greater Holy Life Temple Christian Academy. See AHI# 219561 for additional building on property. N. 76th Street Architecture/History Survey, WisDOT #2140-13-70, Prepared by Heritage Research (2011). DOE prepared by Heritage Research (2011) 2025: Selective demo.
