DOOR W/ROMAN WINDOW TRANSOM & LARGE ROUND ARCH ENTRANCE SURROUND. MONUMENTAL IONIC PILASTERS SUPPORT MOULDED AND DENTILLED CORNICE. LARGE ROUND ARCH TRANSOMED 2 STORY WINDOW W/KEYSTONED LINTEL. John Hanaus organized the investors for this venue and was the manager as well. According to "Antigo's Landmarks," it served as an armory duirng World War I. The opera house had seating for 1,10 and the seats could be removed to create a dance floor with the orchestra on stage. A bowling alley and billiard parlor were in the basement at one time. |
