NOTES
Additional Information:This cream brick Gabled Ell house is set along the west side of CR E, north of the TMER&L railroad corridor. Its date of construction could not be confirmed in the WHPD or by county assessor records. Aerial photos suggest it was built before 1937. The house is representative of a late nineteenth/early twentieth century residence in a restrained Georgian style in brick cladding that is typical for the local area. It exhibits distinctive features including stone foundation, segmented arch brick lintels, bargeboard beneath the eaves, and front porch. In the 1899 atlas, this small parcel was owned and homesteaded, and the CR E predecessor bisected the property. The owner and acreage of this small triangular parcel was not clear; it appears the owners initials were W.H. In 1919, William Frederick owned and homesteaded this parcel, the southwest corner of which was crossed by the Milwaukee Electric Railway corridor. In the 1937 aerial photograph this farmstead was depicted, including the house and several barns/agricultural buildings that have been replaced. A large barn and 2 other nonextant buildings stood directly across the street.
