NOTES
Additional Information:A 'site file' (Mikkelson Farmstead) exists for this property. It contains additional information such as correspondence, newspaper clippings, or historical information. It is a public record and may be viewed in person at the Wisconsin Historical Society, Division of Historic Preservation-Public History.

Other buildings associated with this record include: Granary (AHI #221471), Privy (AHI #221472), Chicken House (AHI #221473), Dairy Barn (AHI #221474), Garage (AHI #221475), Tobacco Barn (AHI #221476), Hog Barn (AHI #221477), Cattle Shed (AHI #221478), Tobacco Barn (AHI #221479), Hog House (AHI #221480), Gas Shed (AHI #221481), and Playhouse (AHI #221482).

A sign at the property’s driveway entrance indicates that it has been in the Mikkelson Family since 1871. Early historical maps corroborate this. The 1861 map shows A. Ellingson as the owner, but by 1873 the property has passed into the ownership of M. Mikkelson. However, the 1890 map shows and M.M. Voss as the owner. In any case, M. Mickkelson appears again as the owner on the 1899 map. Later maps prove that the property has remained in the Mikkelson Family, passing from one generation to the next (Carl, Morris, Alma, Arthur). Arthur currently owns the property, which may include as much as approximately 100 acres.
