Additional Information:George Halvorson probably built this tobacco barn around 1931, when he acquired the farmstead. Halvorson was well-known in the Town of Christiana. He served as town clerk for 44 years and was locally nicknamed the “tobacco king.” He was a “veteran farmer of the area and expert on tobacco.” According to the current owners, the tobacco barn is the "longest in Dane County."
