Additional Information: | A 'site file' (Spring Green Commercial Historic District) exists for this property. It contains additional information such as correspondence, newspaper clippings, or historical information. It is a public record and may be viewed in person at the Wisconsin Historical Society, Division of Historic Preservation-Public History. 2012- "This newly inventoried commercial building is located on the south side of East Jefferson Street, immediately west of South Worcester Street. Erected ca. 1930, the one-story building is finished with brick, faces north, and is oriented perpendicular to East Jefferson Street. The flat roof is hidden behind a stepped parapet. The building displays the influence of the Art Deco style in its rectilinear and stepped back massing, stepped parapet, flat roof, horizontal banding, brick face and smooth limestone accents. Alterations are primarily limited to the building's storefront windows; some openings have been reduced in size or covered, and nearly all carry replacements. Additionally, several awnings have been added to the building's east-facing facade." - "E Jefferson St, Worcester St to STH 23 (Winstead ST)", WisDOT ID #5916-00-01", Prepared by Rachel E Bankowitz (2012). |
