Additional Information:KILLERLAIN WAS THE MANAGER OF THE FIRESTONE TIRE AND RUBBER CO. STORE IN MADISON. THE HOUSE APPEARS TO BE CONSTRUCTED WITH POURED CONCRETE WALLS. “Showing of Concrete House Planned Next Week,” Wisconsin State Journal, Jan. 15, 1950, p. 17. “The exterior block walls are covered with a waterproof cement coat, finished with two coats of cement paint. The horizontal lines of the masonry are emphasized in the final finish.” “Selling for approximately $17,000, the structure has two bedrooms and a bath, a large living room [with fireplace] dining room, kitchen and garage all located on the ground floor. The basement is constructed to provide for recreation area as well as utility rooms.” Built by Capitol Construction Company, the house was promoted as “practically maintenance free and fire safe.” A nearly identical house is located at 814 Northport Drive in Madison. It was also completed in 1950.
