Additional Information: | A 'site file' titled 'Arlington Park Cemetery' exists for this property. It contains additional information such as correspondence, newspaper clippings, or historical information. It is a public record and may be viewed in person at the Wisconsin Historical Society, Division of Historic Preservation-Public History. Originally owned by Meyer family; sold with farmland for cemetery use in 1918. 2013- Arlington Park Cemetery was established in 1918 and laid out in a geometric design following the City Beautiful tradition. The cemetery contains five historic resources including the cemetery grounds (224343), the Meyer House (224353), a small metal footbridge (224382), a service building (224383), and a water tank (224384)." The Meyer House was constructed in 1865. This Side Gabled building is irregular in plan with brick walls and an asphalt-shingled gable roof with overhanging eaves. The front elevation faces west and is asymmetrical in plan. The 2-story "upright" portion of the facade contains two 1-over-1 windows at the first story and two 1-over-1 windows at the second story. A small round window is located just below the gable. The 1-story side-gabled portion of the facade contains banks of large picture and glass block windows across the west and south facades. A small front-gabled dormer with a boarded-over window is located in the center of the western roof slope.
