The monument is composed of a first generation white pine that was cut down in 1937; the carefully preserved tree is sheltered by an open, gabled structue. A sign reads "White Pine Commemorating Wausau Pioneer Lumber Industry Cut Down Dec. 29 1937 by Yawkey-Alexander Lumber Company at Dudley, WIS 500 Years Old Kiwanis Project." |
