NOTES
Additional Information:THIS BUILDING WAS REBUILT ON THE SITE OF A LARGE STORE BUILDING THAT BURNED IN 1914. W. B. MAXON HAD A LONG-TIME HARDWARE STORE ON THIS SITE AND REBUILT WHEN THAT BUILDING BURNED. MAXON HAD THE HARDWARE BUSINESS UNTIL 1934, THEN IT WAS THE LONG-TIME HARDWARE STORE OF FRANK HOLMES. THE BUILDING IS A GOOD EXAMPLE OF THE TWENTIETH CENTURY COMMERICIAL ARCHITECTURAL STYLE AND IT WAS THE HOME OF ONE OF THE LONGEST RETAIL BUSINESSES IN MILTON, THE MAXON-HOLMES HARDWARE STORE.
