NOTES
Additional Information:This two-story, Dutch Colonial Revival-style house rises from what appears to be a stone foundation applied with stucco. Modern siding (applied in 1975) covers the house, however, it is of similar width to the original, narrow clapboard sheathing. A hipped-roof open porch fronts the primary (east) elevation and features wooden columnar supports and dentil trim. A central door is located between two, large picture windows; a tripartite grouping runs along the second level. Although two windows along the home’s south elevation carry six-over-one-light sash, a historic photo indicates that the original fenestration consisted of one-over-one-light examples, like the remaining windows throughout the house. A two-story bedroom addition was added to the rear of the home in 1981 and it currently functions as a two-family home.

Assessor’s information identifies a 1910 date of construction. As of 1926, plat maps indicate that the property was owned by Peter Schmit and, as of 1954, it appears to be in the possession of William Herbst. It was more recently owned by Heinz Rehnau, who applied the siding and constructed the two-story addition to the rear.
