| Additional Information: | This one-story, side-gabled, brick-faced Ranch house features an attached garage at its south end. Colonial Revival style features include the front-facing, gabled porch, eight-over-eight-light windows over wooden-panel insets, as well as a single sidelight flanking the door. Aluminum sheathes the gables to the front and sides; however, based on permit information which specifies construction materials, it is original. Although the ad for the home identifies the entry with double doors, this example was clearly originally built with a single door and sidelight. Known as the “Dolly Madison II,” this house was built in 1968 as a model home in the Cloverleaf Estates West subdivision. It was designed and built by Ray Millikin and marketed by Millikin Realty at a cost of $22,990. The subdivision was officially platted in 1969 by Henry & Ruby (nee Pierner) Schaefer, who resided at 9219 N. 60th Street. |
