Additional Information:This buildings is the larger of two gambrel basement barns. A poured concrete silo is attached and an earthen ramp is built to the upper level. Resources for the A. E. Perkins Farmstead include the house (138858), gable basement barn (226134), gambrel basement barn (226135), agricultural outbuilding (225136), agricultural outbuilding (226137), silo (226138), and machine shed (226139). 2022 - The Gambrel-roofed barn complex (AHI 226135) consists of a side-gabled basement barn and a concrete silo to the north. Constructed circa 1900, it is located southwest of the Gable-roofed barn. The barn is constructed of vertical board siding atop a fieldstone basement, with a metal gambrel roof. An earthen ramp leads to the large sliding door on the southeast elevation. Window openings have been cut into the fieldstone foundation but are boarded up. The concrete silo is located at the northwest corner of the structure. Much of the remaining barn is not visible due to tree cover. 2012- "This basement bam (AHI #226135) was constructed circa 1900. It is rectangular in plan with a metal clad, gambrel roof, vertical board walls and a field stone foundation. An earthen ramp leads to the sliding bam doors at the upper level of the southeast elevation. A concrete silo is attached at the northwest elevation." - "STH 83, Mukwanago and Waterford 7.5 Quads", WisDOT ID #1300-09-71, Prepared by GLARC, Inc (Megan Daniels) (2012).
