It is a public record and may be viewed in person at the Wisconsin Historical Society, Division of Historic Preservation-Public History. DENTILLED AND MODILLIONED EAVES UNDER PLAIN FLSE PARAPET. BRICK BLDG W/CUT STONE VENEER. COMPLETELY ALTERED 1ST FLR FRONT W/VERTICAL BOARD SIDING. May 2001-According to the Wisconsin Office of Historic Buildings#25; architecture/history inventory, this two story, Neo-Classical Revival commercial building was erected c. 1909. A stone tablet at the cornice names the structure: MISSION POINT BLOCK. The upper floor retains its original smooth faced stone veneer, stone classical moldings and original window openings, except that the openings have been filled with vertical boards. The storefront has been altered with a kick plate of random, coursed stone veneer and vertical board siding with small, fixed windows in reduced openings. A parapet hides the flat roof. Currently, chapter 1313 of the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks occupies the building. |
