Additional Information: | 2019- "This building stands on the historic Lewis C. and Mary Williams farmstead. The property was previously identified in the AHI as the Lewis C. and Margaret Williams Farmstead (22700-227206), but Lewis C. and Mary Williams are more appropriately associated with the property. Although county records date the wood corn crib to 1950, it does not appear in air photos until 1967. It stands immediately west of a large metal machine shed on the north side of the farmstead. The small rectangular building has wood lap siding with wide gaps, some portions are patched with plywood. A central aisle runs through the building; the sliding doors on the north face remain intact. The building is in use as machinery and implement storage. This building is not individually eligible. The farmstead as a whole is also recommended not eligible for listing in the NRHP." 2013- "This farmstead consists of seven historic resources including a house [227200], garage [227201], poultry house [227202], stone outbuilding [227208], dairy barn complex [227204], corn crib [227205], and a pole barn [227206]. Recently constructed resources include a c.1973 hay/cattle shed and a c.1983 grain bin. The corn crib was constructed c.1965. It is rectangular in plan with composition board and horizontal slat walls and an asphalt-shingled gable roof. The slat walls of the east and north elevations appear to have been covered by newer composition board. A large sliding barn door is located in the center of the north elevation." -"USH 45: 16th Ave to STH 50", WisDOT#3200-01-02, Prepared by Gail Klein, (2013). |
