Additional Information: | This 2-story Richardsonian Romanesque retail building was constructed in 1898. It is rectangular in plan with stone walls and a flat roof. The front elevation faces west and is asymmetrical in plan. A round arched doorway is located at the northern end of the facade; the remainder of the first story contains a large rectangular window opening. The second story contains three window openings separated by vertical stone bands. All of the door and window openings in the facade have been filled with composition board and contain much smaller, insensitive replacements. A simple cornice contains engaged brackets, a date stamp at the center, and small pendles at each corner. The building appears to have been converted to apartment units, and the interior was not available for viewing at the time of survey. |
