Additional Information: | A 'site file' exists for this property under the name "Shaw Point Historic District." It contains additional information such as correspondence, newspaper clippings, or historical information. It is a public record and may be viewed in person at the Wisconsin Historical Society, State Historic Preservation Office. Cottage 2 is a one-story, wood-framed cabin located west of Fifield’s Cottage. After Samuel Fifield had several successful seasons at Camp Stella, he added a row of cabins to provide his guests an alternative to tents. When the Andersens purchased Camp Stella in the 1930s, Cottage 2 became Elizabeth (Andersen) Hulings’s cabin when the family visited the island. The cottage continues to be used as a seasonal residence by descendants of the Andersen family. |
