Additional Information: | A 'site file' exists for this property. It contains additional information such as correspondence, newspaper clippings, or historical information. It is a public record and may be viewed in person at the Wisconsin Historical Society, State Historic Preservation Office. 2014- This 1-story Twentieth Century Commercial bank build ing was constructed in 1920. It is rectangular in plan with red brick and stone block walls and a flat roof. The front elevation faces north and is symmetrical in plan with a central door that features a decorative stone surround with an interlocking diamond motif and the word "BANK" across the top panel. Large single-pane windows are located on each side of the doorway. A bank of three multi-pane windows with metal frames spans the facade above the door and windows. Square- and diamond-shaped stones are inset into the brickwork below the roofline. Pairs of electric globe lights are located below the overhanging roofline near the east and west corners of the facade. The interior of the bu ilding retains its open front room plan, bank vault, and office space as well decorative detailing including a colored glass skylight and decorative crown molding. -"CTH D" WisDOT ID #4880-01-00, Prepared by Gail Klein (2014). |
