NOTES
Additional Information:2024: The Christian Schultz Drive-In is a one-story, octagon-shaped restaurant with a hip roof clad in asphalt shingles. It was constructed in 1968, according to the WHPD record. It is clad in clapboard siding and has paired, one-over-one, metal replacement windows. Alternating pairs of windows include bracketed wood service counters. Two entrances for men’s and women’s restrooms are located on the side (west) elevation and an entrance to the kitchen is located on the side (east) elevation. A shed-roof carport extends from the side (east) elevation, though it has been altered to shelter picnic tables rather than vehicle bays. The carport features a lattice rear half wall, a sign on the roof for “Mullin’s Short Stop,” and two metal lights. Additional picnic tables are located east of the building. A metal sign for the business is located northeast of the shelter, and the building is surrounded by a large paved lot. Alterations appear to be limited to replacement windows and modern signage. The Christian Schultz Drive-In opened in 1968, though by c.1970 the property was sold and renamed Mullin’s Short Stop. According to its Facebook page, Mullin’s Short Stop is open seasonally and still operates as a drive-in, with patrons’ cars now being served in the parking lot rather than under the carport.
